NM :Â Tell us about your journey with NEAT. How long have you been a franchise owner?
AK: I discovered that NEAT Method was looking for franchise owners in the Detroit area in June 2021, and by October of that same year, I launched NEAT Method Detroit-South. Owning an organizing business wasn’t something I had initially considered, but when the opportunity presented itself, I knew it was the perfect fit—and I’ve never looked back. It may sound cliché, but we truly transform people’s lives. When we arrive on a project, our clients often feel overwhelmed and chaotic, but by the time we leave, they feel refreshed and renewed. I never anticipated just how meaningful this work would be—not only for our clients, but for me as well.
NM :Â What has been your favorite part of life as a NEAT owner?
AK: The community—our clients and the NEAT family! Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible people and forming genuine friendships with many of our clients. And there’s nothing quite like the NEAT family—a wonderfully supportive and inspiring group of women who own NEAT markets across the U.S. and Canada.
NM :Â What made you decide to expand to a second market?
AK: Our team has spent the past few years unpacking and organizing homes for clients in the Ann Arbor area, making expansion a natural next step. I love what I do, and if I can bring more comfort, order, joy, and peace to people's lives, then growing our reach was an easy decision.

NM :Â What excites you about organizing in this new location?
AK: I believe the residents of Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas will truly value the sustainability our services bring. I'm excited to introduce our approach to a new community and help busy professionals and families create a more organized, peaceful lifestyle.

NM : We'd ask what people can expect when they hire you, but why don't you just show us?
AK:Â This pantry is from a new build unpack project. The homeowner loves to cook and entertain. Her pantry is her workroom and has every spice, rice, flavoring, mix, ingredient, tool, cookbook, and copper pot you can imagine. The acacia and bone products we used perfectly complemented the beautiful blue cabinetry.
AK: This client’s newly renovated closet was created to mimic a boutique like experience for the homeowner's gorgeous collection of clothes, shoes, and accessories.
AK: We organized this kitchen for a second residence. Since our work is custom for each client, you’ll notice that we created a storage solution that isn't typically found in your primary kitchen. This summer home is all about outdoor fun like enjoying s’mores.
