Space Lift: Small Office
We love showing finalized NEAT spaces on our Instagram feed, but what we love even more is telling the stories of their newly organized spaces.
Take a look at Mia’s own home office and see what makes it so NEAT!
City :: New Hampshire
Organizer :: Mia Whalley
Room :: Small Home Office
Hours to complete :: 4
Objective :: To transform an underutilized closet from “drop zone” into a function home office without breaking the bank.
Mia’s favorite feature :: Instead of a traditional metal 2-drawer filing unit, we chose a wooden system with multiple drawers. This allows for each drawer to be designated to a specific category, allowing us to simplify this families filing system. Multiple units allows for this busy mama-pranuer to keep her business and personal files organized all in one room. Bonus:: the filing drawers double as the legs to the table which is a huge space saver. The natural light of the room + the white furniture makes this a very inviting space for productive work days at home.
Stand out product :: The Alex drawer unit from IKEA comes in multiple styles and color options. All four sides are finished so it looks great from all directions. With under $500 invested into this office, we transformed a chaotic drop zone into an inviting work space!
What’s your favorite part of this home office?

Lets face it – we obviously love to organize and are a little…or maybe we should say a lot type-A. This perfect storm created The Neat Life. Welcome! We’ve seen it all, heard it all, organized it all, and are always obsessed with seeing a perfectly NEAT space. Even if a clutter free space doesn’t tickle your fancy as much as ours, we guarantee you will be entertained by our antics and drive to make the world a NEAT-er place!
I love the work that you do. It would be nice to see more pictures. Maybe the complete desk. I have an office space that is a walk through to my bedroom. And right now it is a catch all. I thought a tall desk would be good so I could stand and work but now I’m rethinkjng that because if I have to work for longer than a half hour I have to sit on a stool. Not comfy.
